Independent validation of scoring models is strongly encouraged, if not mandated, in the regulations shown to the left.  The regulation requires comparison against other models and real world outcomes.  Comparison of this sort requires an experienced practitioner.

Freddie Mac introduced the industry to Loan Prospector in July 1995.  Today,  finding practitioners with eight years     experience in the field is rare.

Don Wilson, a founder of MDT, implemented his initial mortgage scoring system in early 1994.  He has constructed scoring systems for both prime and sub-prime mortgage companies.  He served as Chief Credit Officer for a subprime lender and as Sr. Vice President of Mortgage Scoring for a top three mortgage originator.  Mr.    Wilson will either perform or personally supervise and carefully review each validation conducted by MDT.  His perspective on mortgage scoring issues, system development, validation of working models and actual outcomes adds value to model validation that is not available from “large / well known” consulting or auditing firms.

“The personnel performing model validation should be as independent as possible from the personnel who construct the model.”
